24th Sea Games at Korat, Thailand

I've been wanting to update my blog since I arrived Thailand. But I never managed to do so. The Athlete's Village wasn't as bad as what I heard from a lot of people. It just sucked that some countries are really far apart from each other. Other than that, I liked the food that are served at the dining hall. The pool is outdoor, I was really excited after I found that out because I needed a tan desperately..lol! Most of the people in the swim team were whining how dark they've gotten after two morning swim..yet I only gotten part of theirs darkness. They got so mad whenever I showed off my "tan". Anyways, I'm happy that I'm not as white as I first get here..hehe!

On the first day of the meet, we had a great performance from Yih Wey, clocking her pb 2.17.39 in 200m backstroke which was just 0.01 secs from the Olympic cut. I was so happy for her cuz it was her first SEA games and she's from my state too :) She swam three events that night, the 200m Bk, 200m IM and the 4x200m Fr relay. That truly amazed me!

I didn't do my pb in the 200m IM but I beat Tao Li at least by getting a gold medal for the country. Besides that, I made the Olympic B cut by a sec. I was actually aiming for the A cut but it's alright. I'll train harder after SEA games and hopefully I can get it by next April.

At the second day of the meet, we started off with two silvers from Daniel in the 100m Fr and me in the 100m Br. Then, the highlight of the night from Cai lin :) She did her pb in the 400m Fr by clocking 4.18.20, which also made the Olympic B cut and the SEA games record. I was pretty much screaming my lungs out when she was racing. I almost felt from the stairs at her last 100m..lol!

As for my 100m Br, my time was slower than the morning. I was a little nervous and tense when I was racing. I wasn't that upset though because I know I'm always better in the 200m :) I was so happy when I went a 57.80 in the 4x100m Fr relay. Oh, we were 2nd place for that event. Thailand came first breaking the SEA games record, then us breaking the National record and then the Philipines. All in all, the swim team ended up well.

Alrighty, that's all for now. I'll update more when I have time, maybe with some pictures :p

Malaysia won first, only because Singapore, who was supposed to be second, got disqualified.

And you lost to Nicolette fair and square in the 100 Breast. She beat you by 2.5s. God, you really are arrogant. Stop leaving facts out when you blog

to anonymous - Well yes, Singapore was supposed to be in the 2nd place but they got disqualified. Malaysia just got lucky jumping from the 3rd place to the 2nd.

Of course I know I lost to Nicolette fair and square because she's in fact a good sprinter but I'm not. I've been focusing more on the longer distances at practices. So I wasn't really worried much about my shorter distance event. Also, I don't mean to sound arrogant. I'm just stating how I really felt in my blog.

to anonymous..arrogant???i don't think thing is arrogant to say what she wants to in her blog..in fact i don't even think that you should comment such a thing about ppl's blog as they are free to speak their minds..!!!that's what blog are for..if you think she's arrogant then y bother reading her blog?its not like you can qualify for the olympics anyway..

plus, nic teo was the favourite to win the 100breast and that is the only event that she specialize in..

overall,i think all the malaysians did really well in whatever events that they swam in..cheers ting..!!!
