I wasn't nervous at all when I turn in the form for the art awards and scholarship. But I definitely was feeling the adrenaline started to kick in, as I was setting up my work in the studio for the juries tomorrow.

Since this is my first time taking part in competition like this, I’m not expecting much. I thought it will be a good and fun experience for me. Just getting myself more involved and closer to the art world J

Actually I consider myself quite lucky, because I’m only competing against another four art students (seniors who are graduating in May 2011). Unlike other classes (freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors who are graduating in Dec 2011 or May 2012), there are more competition. Well, I still wish all the art students good luck including myself J

Oh and…I’m kinda sorta debating if I should put my wire project up tomorrow…I guess I should, because I got nothing to lose!

So...I've been a bad bad student for skipping classes part of last week and AGAIN today -.- Really didn't mean to though, coz I was actually planning to make up the stuff that I supposed to do over the weekend.

Shouldn't have taken the damn power nap, because it ended up turning into a 7hrs sleep. I have a terrible nightmare. It was def my punishment. I dreamed that one of my close friend has cancer, and the chance to survive is very small. I was devastated. Thank god it was just a dream.

Like always...I went to dreammoods.com to interpret why I dreamed what I dreamed. I searched for cancer. And it said - To dream that someone has cancer, indicates that you need to change your negative way of thinking before it eats away at you. Start being more positive.

So right on man! It freaked me out! I really gotta get my shit together! Come on Tinger! You got this!!!

My sleeping habit and my time management has been horrible lately. After two weeks of "snow apocalypse", that totally threw my whole body system off 0.0 Hopefully I can recover from the snow break asap, so I can be more focus for school and all. Since I'm still up, might as well share some pictures I took two nights ago. I called my living room as my "mini studio" :P For my painting hw, we have to make six variety of paintings. It doesn't matter what supports, medium and sizes we use, all we have to is experiment. Then, I have to pick one that I like most and make another six series of paintings. It was a fun experience indeed. However, I was so tired that night, I didn't get to do the series of paintings. I only did the six experiments paintings. And...sadly I'm still struggling with the technique I want to use for my series paintings -.-

Thank god I got to finish my fall semester with 3.0ish. I can't believe I only have one semester left, then I'll be done with my undergrad!!

I left faytown on the 15th and got to Chicago that evening. I enjoyed not doing anything for few days but the boredom started to hit me. I feel like a slacker. Gahhh! I've been looking for part time jobs on craiglist in Chicago, but most of the jobs last more than a month.

Anyways, I'm excited I get to spend Xmas with Jen and her older sister's fiancées family in the Suburbs. I met the family in the summer for wedding tasting, super friendly and funny people. I can't wait to see a close friend of mine during New Years!

Perhaps my brain is not used to not being occupied, because I haven't been able to function well lately lol. Thus, all the random ramblings.

I'm just gonna end my blog today with some pictures after my finals and some in Chicago.

Overdue Sculpture Project 2 - Modelling Portrait Bust With Clay

Modeling of the head, neck and shoulder

Got my ears, nose modeled :) Plus the eye socket gouged.

Eye balls were added to my eye sockets, scary looking I know.

Fix the eye sockets area but still no eyes, non human looking hand was added lol. (The paper towels around my bust is to prevent the clay from drying and cracking)

Got the hair rendered but no pigtails yet :P

As you can tell from the picture, modification was done on my pigtails to prevent them breaking off during the casting process. (That would be done in project 3)

I know it's been a short while since I last updated this space of mine :) But here I am, feeling content and accomplished because I've been working hard at school. I can't even recall how much time I've spent in the art building, it's pretty much my second home now. Although doing all these art projects are time consuming, but I enjoy every moment of it. It's amazing the extra time I spent outside classes to paint or sculpting, that brought me closer to my classmates. They are all talented, funny and nice people. I feel so blessed being able to meet them. Sometimes I wish I got into this art classes earlier. Oh well, everything happen for a reason right? :D Anyways, I'm done sharing my thoughts here. And for the next post, I'll upload the progress of my portrait bust for my sculpture class. Stay tuned!

Here are some pictures I've taken of my friends' pets :) The first one you probably recognized from my last post, Kenobi with the evil eyes lol

As for the next three pictures, that's Reesee :) She's a three leg dog adopted by my ex teammate, Gina from the animal shelter. Reesee is a super chill dog, seldom bark, loves the attention of people and good to cuddle with.

The next three pictures of the dog belongs to my other friend, Travis. I couldn't recall the dog's name, neither I can identify the kind of dog he belongs to. So sorry! The dog is still very young even though he's a big dog. He likes to 'attack' people in a non harmful way so he can play with you lol

Lastly, here are the pictures of my friend, Tifanie's cats :) I apologized for not remember their names again -.- Anyways, the kitties are super cute especially the fluffy one. He's not afraid of people and loves to get pet :) As for another kitty, he's shy at first but once he gets to know you. He will try to get close to you. Ahh I want a kitty of my own so bad!! Someday...:P

Second part of my update consist mostly of the food I cooked and baked. First of all, I have never posted any food on my blog before, I apologize for my inexperience description of food and other stuff. Other than that, enjoy reading! :)

I just made my mom's signature fried Mee Hoon 30 minutes ago. I think it looked quite yummy in the picture, but the taste was kind of blend. It doesn't have much taste to it. I wonder if I needed to put more salt and sugar to it? Hmm, gotta ask mom about this. Since it's my first time making it, I still have room for improvement.

First time making this french toast, my sister's are ten times better than mine lol. I didn't know how it taste like because I was too full to eat anything. My french toast got a little burnt as I had the temperature too high. I think the melting of the peanut butter somewhat caused that too. Oh, and I ran out of eggs while I was making them. Great experience I gotta say 0.0 Will try to make this again next time :) Ps/ My friend tried it and she said it was good.

Here is the White Chocolate Pound Cake I always bake for my friends. I found the recipe online six or seven years ago, can't recall the website though. I have always enjoy making this cake for some reason :P Most of my friends loved it after their first taste of the cake. I find it rather interesting that the cake taste better the next day, you must heat it up with microwave because it taste better when it's warm. I still wish I know the person who came up with this cake recipe, big kudos to him/her! :)

First time making Malaysia Ajak with my mom's recipe. Even though I accidentally added too much chili powder in the beginning, it still turned out yummy :) In fact, this is an easy dish to make. Besides, it's a healthy dish because most of the ingredients consists of veggies such as carrots, cabbage, long beans and cucumber. It lasts for a while as white vinegar was used. You can just store the Ajak into few plastic containers in the fridge. You can treat Ajak like you're eating salad, you can also use it as dip for chips, or you can also mix it with any of your main dish. Overall, I enjoyed making it minus cutting all the veggies into small pieces. Will make this again without a doubt :)

I kinda took some stuff that was written on the assignment sheet my teacher gave me :P Hope the pictures I post will help a little :)

Ps/ I don't really have pictures exactly I started because I was in class working on them. It just got so dirty and I don't wanna get my phone all plastered up. Anyways, the first two pictures were taken when I got started. The next two pictures, I was just experimenting at home to see how I should have my objects lay out. As for the rest, all the pictures were taken at the site where I presented them. The pictures were also for my documentation for class. Enjoy!!

During my critique that day, my teacher and the rest of my classmates really liked my project,

especially the color variation. The only weakness was my objects do not relate to the site I picked. Why I chose that specific tree? Why didn't I chose the other trees that were around? I couldn't really answer when my teacher asked me that. I should have paid more attention the objects have to related to the site I picked. Oh well, I'll keep that in mind and be more aware next time. Hopefully I do well on this project.

I wasn't expecting any respond after I text him for the last time.

He sent me seven texts and there were pretty crazy.

Surprisingly I wasn't upset, I find it rather amusing because he was acting so childish.

My best friend told me he was an ass and don't talk to him again.

I hesitated and said I think I might for another last time.

I thought ALOT about it and ended up not texting him at all.

I was quite proud of myself.

Although I didn't get to talk to him, I still wrote everything down just so I can get it outta my head.

The message goes like this...

I guess you were right. I have noone to blame but myself for being a fool falling for you. I was so naive to think that staying by your side, perhaps one day I'll be your girl. I should've known better that will never happen. It was quite obvious you'll never see me that way. I was the one that can't let go of my feeling for you. After all the crazy/mad texts we've exchanged for the past few months, has made me realized I need to stop torturing myself. Things are just not meant to be. I just gotta let go and move on with my life. Yes, it's not going to be easy but I'll learn how to cope with it. I'm not doing this for you. I'm doing this for myself because I want to live happier. Who knows, maybe one day I'll meet someone who is right for me. Maybe you will too. It's funny that I've been a crazy bitch to you and you've been a major asshole to me. I guess that make us even. I had a pretty chill and fun summer at Arkansas.

Thanks to these two girls - Summer and Steph. Glad I had them while I was going through the transition from swimming to no swimming.

I had a even more fabulous time w my bestie, Jen at Chicago. Love this girl to death!

Time really flies, can't believe it's my last night in Chi and I'm going home in two days.

Super excited to see my family and friends :)

Ok..it's official I'm taking a break from swimming so I can focus on my studies and graduate next May. This also means that I won't be taking part in Commonwealth games and Asian Games this year.

Enjoying my summer so far without swimming. Just two classes from Monday til Friday.

Been trying to control my diet since I no longer practice like I used to. Doing pretty well so far :)

Oh and about my last post, don't worry too much about it. Because I changed my mind AGAIN. I guess love makes you do crazy things sometimes..lol

I can't wait to go home and get my license and then get my license in the States. Then, my first car!!! Ahhh! So freaking excited!!

I'll be ok :)

Finally got done with my last exam yesterday morning!!
Really happy it's over, no more worrying and stress until summer classes start.

I can't believe I'm moving out completely from my current apt today.
To be honest, I can't wait because I can no longer stand the awkwardness and fakeness anymore.
I'm so sick of it.
It's sad that the friendship we used to have, drifted away just like that.
I don't even know the reason to it.
I could care less about it either.
Once I'm out of this apt, she will be out of my life as well.

For my other studio class which is the 3D class, our final project is to pick any location on campus and buy any kind of string to build something on that spot. There is this huge sculpture thing behind the art building I spotted and decided to use it for my project. At the beginning, I really had no clue what kind of string I was going to use. We were supposed to get it that weekend but I completely forgotten about it when I was out with my friends. So I texted my classmate to do me a favor by buying some for me before Monday's class. He bought two kinds of string, one is the jute kind and the other one I couldn't recall. Anyways, I've already had some idea in my head what to do for my string project. I wanted to make a beehive in the middle of that huge sculpture in order to take up the triangle free space. But it wasn't as easy as I thought, so I just started playing around with the string. I started to added more and more string onto that sculpture. Sometimes I'm happy with the ongoing process but sometimes I get so frustrated with it. I'll experiment with some pattern, if I don't like it, I'll take it off and so on. Seriously, I don't think I ever spend that much time on an art project. I would say this string project is by far one of my most satisfied art work in my entire life. During our critiques today, a lot of my classmates liked my project and complimented on it. Even my teacher!! He was telling the class that he's always afraid when students pick an art piece to work on another art piece, because most of the time the end results never turn out well. But he said my work was by far the best one he've seen!!! OMG! You have no idea how happy I was!!!! I've never been that proud of my work. That really gives me motivation and confidence to continue majoring in art :) Ok, I think I'm done talking about my project. Here are three images I took with my phone throughout the string project.

I took the first picture when I first started, the second one was kind of taken a little before half way process and the last one is taken two days ago. I'll post the pictures of my finished one this weekend!! Peaceeee

OMG! It works!!! Unfortunately it's not the one that I'm using for my poster project, it's something like this but a little modified with colors and frame :) The bottom one was just another experiment of mine.

I'll upload the final one I'll be using for critique this Thursday. Wish me luck!! I'm gonna try to upload the third project that I got an A on..hehe!

My week started off pretty well and sadly it's been going down hill :(
And here it goes...

I was super happy I got my Adobe creative suite 4 covered by my scholarship last week. So eager to install it to my laptop. But it kept on telling me it's expired. Uninstalled and reinstalled few times but still doesn't work. So I went back to the tech store for help and he told me I need to remove all the adobe remain that I had in my laptop. So I did what he asked but still failed. I decided to restore my laptop to when it's new. But failed to do so, worst is that I can't even get to Windows. Went back to the tech store and ask for help again. He told me I can use the recovery disk I burned to restore my comp. Did what he asked, it actually processed this time but failed again at 99%. Tried few times, still did the same thing. Super upset, but still having hopeful thoughts perhaps the tech guy can help me out. He told me it's my hard drive problem. He told me go to the HP website to get the 1800 number and get a new hard drive to replace my current one since my laptop is not a year old yet. Was not in the mood to talk to someone on the phone, chose to chat with the tech people online instead. He asked me to do two tests on my hard drive. It seemed there is no problem with my hard drive, installing software was the problem. I needed to get my laptop mail to HP so they can install that thingy for me. But I needed to wait for Fedex to mail me this box that include the packaging stuff along with the instruction, return label, etc. Waiting for the Fedex thing plus mailing it back plus service, that would take about two weeks. If it's during the semester, I'm actually ok with that. But two weeks before my final exams seriously is not the time to be laptopless...

Man I have to admit I have NO LUCK with computers!!!

I really wanted to go out and have some drink tonight with my friend but she can't do it. -_-

I guess I'll just study my night away...

Dang!! It has been AWHILE since I last updated my blog. Opps!

I really don't mean to do it though. I just have the tendency to putting it behind all the time =_=

There were few times I wanted to update it but when I thought of the amount of stuff I have to write. I hesitated and just left the blog..haha!

Anyways, my life has been good.

Since I came back from home this summer, I have changed for good in both swimming and school.

Big thank you for my pyschologist who have greatly helped me get through the good and bads for the past four months.

I never missed any of my classes except that one day I was sick and also to travel to swim meets. Other than that, I became more consistent in swim practices. Lastly, I have learned to control my anger and bad attitude.

I swam well at SEA games at Laos. Got the three gold medals I targeted :) Broke three SEA games records and two national records. Really happy with my results minus the 400IM. I know I have told many people that would be my last time swimming that event. I think I might have to take my words back because I wasn't satisfied with that swim. Maybe I'll swim that later this year..hehe! We'll see.

Oh, I celebrated my 24th Bday at Laos with my lovely teammates and the crazy Filipinos. My best bday present of course is to see my family!!!

Hmm...what else to write?! Not gonna lie, I seriously have lots to tell. Especially losing my passport on the weekend of the 27th of Sept and then what I have been through to get a new one...really not fun at all...>_<

Will talk more about that next time. Gotta head to bed now!! Nitey nite everyone!

RIP my dear Bubu!

Poor Bubu is gone...

I think she just died not long ago when I went to check on her.

She was still breathing rather slowly during the day, I knew she's not gonna live any longer just based on her condition.

But I still have my prayers for Bubu.

Bubu aka a golden hamster I bought on Tuesday. The only reason I bought Bubu is to keep Bibi (another golden hamster my mum bought) company, so that Bibi won't get too lonely.

Here are both of them, it's kind of hard to tell which one is which here..lol!

Bubu and Bibi seemed totally fine when we first bought them back. Until two days later, we noticed both of them have been sleeping a lot. However, Bibi will wake up and run around. Bubu on the other hand is ALWAYS sleeping. Three days later as in today, Bibi seemed normal but not for Bubu. I played with Bibi for while and then I went to check on Bubu. I went to the little cage and get Bubu out, it barely have any reaction when I picked it up. Bubu's breathing didn't seem normal and it was wobbling when it walks. I tried to feed Bubu water but it won't drink. Bubu will wake up for five seconds and it will go back to sleep again. It really makes my heart ache every time I look at it. I know it's just a tiny little animal but I'm praying hard Bubu to be healthy again.

I can't believe I'm going back to Fayetteville in three days. Time really flies...especially the good times with my family and close friends. I really don't think I'm ready to leave home yet. But I got no choice because I need to finish my senior year at Arkansas. And I want to make it a good one!

When I get back, I gotta get my mind set for all my goals in school and swimming.

I've been way too lazy to update my blog even though I often come by and check out few websites on my page.

Anyways, here some latest updates.

I'm currently at Santa Clara for Grand Prix meet. Today is the last day and I'm swimming the 200IM later tonight.

I saw Jamie and Travis at the pool just now. The last time I saw them was like 2004?! Travis hasn't changed a bit but Jamie has definitely grown. Caught up with them a bit but I had to leave coz my coach and teammates were waiting. It was still nice to see both of them.

I can't believe we're going back to Fayetteville tomorrow but we won't get back til evening. Blahh!

So I'm really not looking forward to deal with my summer classes problem when I get back. I'm so fucking screwed!! Gahh! I just never learnt!!

May 24th 2009 - Random stuff

It's crazy to reminisce to almost a year ago, I was just getting to know him.

Sometimes I find it hard to believe my feelings towards him are completely different now.

I guess I've finally moved on...

I remember I used to get so excited whenever I get his text message.

But not anymore because I'm still hoping someone else would text me instead.

Maybe meeting more guys at the bars will help me get that out of my head.

Was I really that lonely to the point to actually think a random hook up will turn into something else?

Or was it because that was my first time hooking up with a guy from the bars?

Or was it because of the alcohol I've consumed before I go out makes me think that he was extra cute when I first met him?

Or was it because of the wild make out session I had with him at the back of my friend's car?

I really don't know what to answer to all the questions above.

I guess there's something about him that really attracts me.

I've talked to him few times through text messages, but it was hard to tell someone's emotions through a text message.

He didn't seem to show much interest in me based on most of the text messages.

Finally I'm done with all my finals.

For some reason, the finals wk felt so much longer than last year.

I just did all the questions I was 100% there were right then I guessed the rest of them...

I finally got my new phone today! :)

Bad news!!
I didn't do as well as I wanted to for my bio anthro exam. I should've reviewed it more but it's too late now. Buttt I still have the final exam next wk to pump my grades up so I can't give up yet.

Blahhhh....I haven't swam since Monday and I don't think the coaches will be happy with that..Besides, my grades are not going to be very pretty this semester -.-
